JewelCode started offering Professional Care Management software to clients in 2002. The project started when the founder, Lisa Moody, was working with a couple who wanted to start a Geriatric Care Management practice. She was helping them with business and marketing plans and consulting on their operational needs. As with most people, the concept of Geriatric Care Management was new to her and she was excited to learn about the field. She had been doing volunteer work with elders, in her spare time, and so this concept piqued her interest.

As she worked with her clients, she saw the need for a high quality software-based system to help minimize the paper usage required for a care management practice. At that time, she had 25 years of computer experience, with the previous 8 years being focused on helping large enterprises reduce their paper usage. Part of her paperless specialty was going into a business and analyzing their business processes and finding ways to streamline and reduce paper needs while improving efficiency for the business and making the work easier. This experience all funneled into the need that she saw for Geriatric Care Managers and thus was born JewelCode, which is named after her two children, Juliana and Cody.

To start making the product, she met with care managers locally and began gathering assessment tools, care plans and other information related to billing and general processes used in geriatric care management practices. She took in all of the information and began analyzing and drawing out how the business flows and what the steps are that most care management practices had in common. Even though each practice has their own way of doing things she knew that she could pull together an underlying base that would let them each practice in their unique way, while providing a solid technology foundation. Thus was born CareComplete™, a complete care management software product and the only product available in the market today that provides end-to-end care management tools.
